Retail thefts resulted in a $30-$37 billion dollar loss to the economy. This is a 6% increase from the previous year. Car theft is also at a high resulting in 1.5 million cars stolen a year. There were over 2 million burglaries committed last year. Theft continues to be a growing concern for the United States who surpasses other countries year after year in the percent per capita. More than 70% of all crimes committed are theft related. It is likely that most people will face having their vehicle, money, or personal possessions stolen from them at some point in their lives. While these losses have a lasting impact on the victims most people committing the crime will not be impacted- unless they are taught otherwise. Fresh Start Counseling will work with you.
